Hello All,
Our program meeting with Henry Florsheim is tomorrow at noon at the Kemp Center.
We've secured a bigger space at the Kemp Center if needed, so please RSVP if you plan to attend in person tomorrow. If you would rather join via zoom, here's the info:

During our last business meeting, Jennifer Blackwell shared a message of gratitude we received from one of our scholarship recipients. It read, in part:
Your scholarship has opened a door and the prospect of a brighter future and will play a key role in shaping me into a successful person in the future. Donors like you make life brighter for us and I can only hope that one day, I too will be in a position to bring a smile to another needy student.
Our mission is to continue to help women in Texoma succeed in business, and our scholarship program is at the heart of all that we do. Unfortunately, we are far behind last year in paid memberships. Membership dues, in addition to our fundraisers (including Home and Garden tickets), are crucial to continuing to provide these scholarships. Thanks to those of you who have already paid your dues this year, and for those who have reached out to explain how Covid-19 and/or employment have impacted your ability to do so--continue to reach out to our members for networking opportunities.
For those who would like to become TWBC members, click here for the membership form, which also has a link to pay your dues via square or has our mailing address if you need to send a check.
WHAT ARE OUR MEMBERS UP TO?
It was nice to see our members, some in person for the first time in months, a few weeks ago during the business meeting. Others, we were able to see on the zoom screen (at least when I got the camera figured out!). I thought I'd do a quick overview of what the members in attendance are up to:
Our VP, Kerri Willams, is keeping busy helping people with their financial concerns at Edward Jones, as well as planning all of our program speakers for upcoming program meetings. (Looking forward to hearing from Jackie Hoegger in July!)
Carol Dorrough, our current secretary, reminded us that Catholic Charities has funds available to help those who are impacted by the Covid-19 crisis and that they are also looking to hire for a few positions.
Although most of us in attendance were more interested in seeing Gloria Ricci's beautiful new baby on the Zoom screen, our treasurer was still able to keep us in line and remind us that this tax year is going to be full of surprises and to make sure we keep our records in order. Of course, she is keeping her clients at Succentrix up to date.
Past president, Jennifer Blackwell is now our finance chair. She just finished her special ed training and will be applying for WFISD internship.
Rita Vokes keeps trying to retire, but life just doesn't allow her to do it. She's currently engaged in many activities including those for Veterans and the Alzheimer's Association.
Sally Gray is very thankful to be welcoming people to the area as she delivers her baskets for Welcome to Texoma!
Debbie Yancy reminded us that Hospice of Wichita Falls is celebrating its 35th year!
New Member, Cassandra Shinpaugh is the marketing director for Grayline Research Center. She gave us some insight into the important work they are doing there, including studies on anxiety, depression and ADHD.
As for me, the doors of Personal Money Planning aren't open yet, but that hasn't kept us from staying busy! We plan to do more "Zoomoney" events like last week's "How to Save for an Emergency," so keep an eye on the TWBC and Personal Money Planning Facebook pages for that. When we do open, we will be going back to a more spacious suite of offices since we had some remodeling done while we were working from home. I also continue to write for Falls Town Neighbors magazine and I'm completing my work to receive my 200-hour yoga teacher certification.
Looking forward to brighter days ahead. Thanks!
